About us

La Crisalida Retreats came into being in 2013. It was created by John and Lisa Brant, an English couple who both know the highs of living a busy modern lifestyle but also the real, practical benefits of taking time out to relax and rejuvenate.

Our retreats in Europe and online are designed to give you the opportunity to experience the real, authentic you. Here John and Lisa bring together many elements that they felt is needed to live a rich and fulfilled life and created the unique La Crisalida Programme. They hope to inspire and maybe challenge you to take personal responsibility for your health and well-being to ensure a more fulfilling and rewarding life.

La Crisalida means chrysalis – the place a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly. We hope that you find the retreat a place of personal inner transformation, a place to rest, rejuvenate and reconnect to the authentic you.

Our location and getting here

La Crisalida Retreats in Europe is located on the sunny Costa Blanca, Spain, between Alicante and Valencia. The retreat itself is situated in a small seaside town, called Albir, close to a blue flag beach, sea, natural park and surrounded by mountains. For yoga retreats in Europe, we are easily accessible from Alicante airport, 50 kilometres to the south, so it’s easy to visit La Crisalida from all over Europe and the world.

Supporting charities and local organisations

We are delighted to be supporting a fabulous UK charity called Something To Look Forward To. One of our previous guests, Fiona, set up this charity with her husband. It aims to promote the well-being, relieve the stress and aid the recuperation of those who are experiencing the effects of cancer and its treatment, together with their families. In particular by the provision of positive individual and/or family experiences. Read more about this charity here.

At the retreat we have a stock of gratitude rocks that guests can take home with them. The idea behind gratitude rocks is that you place the rock in your pocket and every time your hand touches the rock, it’s a reminder to think of something you are grateful for. We ask that guests leave a donation. The money collect is donated to charities in the local area.

As we juice a lot of fruit and vegetables, we create a lot of juice pulp! The chicken lady loves collecting the juice to give to her free range chickens!
